Sienna Murphy never does anything without a plan. And so far her plans have been working. Right after college, she got a prestigious job and gained the stability she'd always craved-until work takes her to the sun-drenched shores of Oahu and places her in the path of sexy surfer Luke Everett. For the first time, she lets her heart take control. Drawn to his carefree charm, she makes a spontaneous and very un-Sienna-like decision to drop everything and stay in Hawaii for two more weeks.
Luke lives fast and wild. When he meets Sienna, he's convinced that some no-strings-attached fun is just what she needs. As their nights quickly turn from playful to passionate, Luke can't deny the deep connection he feels. But there's a reason Luke doesn't do long-term. He can't promise Sienna forever, when the enormity of his past has shown him just how fragile the future can be . . .
Seldom do I find a story that resonates deep within my free-spirited soul like this J.A. Redmerski book did. THE MOMENT OF LETTING GO had me staring giddily at my ceiling from my bed hours after finishing it. The title says it all, as Luke and Sienna build an insane connection that will have you rooting for their relationship until the very end as they learn to let go of fears, guilt, and everything else that has the potential to destroy them.
“It took a drastic change, and to be blindsided by love, to make me see how much better, how much more peaceful and fulfilling life can be when it’s not drowned in stress and expectations and fear. It took me giving up what I thought made me the person I am…”
Sienna Murphy took a chance and took a break from her unfulfilling, workaholic life when an intriguing, handsome stranger asked her to stay in Hawaii for just a few more hours. “Just a few more hours” soon became two weeks of adventure as Luke Everett introduced Sienna to a life full of surfing, skydiving, and everything else in between that can scare the life into you. But Luke has a past full of guilt that is haunting him, and Sienna is letting fear control her future. If Luke can help her overcome what is scaring her from having a full life, can Sienna help him let go of the guilt that still plagues him?
“I really do wish that I wasn’t so afraid. I’ve been afraid all my life and there comes a point when all you want to do is be free of it, when you begin to actually see yourself doing things you never thought you’d do.”
The instant pull between Luke and Sienna made me melt, but the way they learned to let go together made me swoon. Just like Luke tells her, sometimes we just need someone there to help us find our strength that is being overshadowed by our weaknesses. Their love for each other is evident through the entirety of this story, from Luke showing her exciting adventure, to Sienna putting his needs before her own. THE MOMENT OF LETTING GO will make you want to “drink the sky.”
