#BBMovesToNYC

This is definitely going to be my favorite blog post that I've written to date. I've been wanting to explain my current life situation for you all so here is the main idea:

I'm moving to New York City because I've accepted a position in marketing for Penguin Random House!

You read that right. After many months of being stuck in this weird state of limbo where I wasn't a student anymore, yet I wasn't really an adult, I've managed to land the perfect job (for me!) in the city! As of January, I'll be working for Penguin Random House!!!! I'm a Penguin now!!!! *insert penguin & book emoji here*

This is kind of a big deal for me because it's been a huge career goal of mine to start in publishing and now it's here, and I can't even fully grasp that I'm buying a one-way ticket to live in my favorite city (thus far).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Because I'm working for Penguin Random House, I personally will not be reviewing any more Penguin Random House titles to avoid any sort of conflicts of interests. That being said, my contributing writers are free to read and post honest reviews for any PRH title.

To be clear, I'm still going to be blogging for Book Baristas, but I'll be posting less frequently, at least until I figure out how to properly schedule my new job (!!!!!) and my blog.

If you're reading this, thank you a million times over for following my blog and for being a Book Barista!! I'm beyond thrilled to start this new chapter in the wild book that is my life! Stay tuned because when #BBMovesToNYC, I'm going to go picture crazy -- sorry, absolutely not sorry, #bookstagram.

If you're in NYC, feel free to reach out! I'd love to have coffee with all of you sometime :)

  1. How exciting! As a follower of yours, I had been wondering why you were in the city so often over the past few months, and well if this isn't the dream reason! Then again, as a New Yorker, I'd probably find legitimately any reason a perfect one for traveling to/living here! :) congratulations x a million on your wonderful opportunity!

  5. Congratulations (again) haha! I had to zip over here after seeing the post on your Instagram. I'm so thrilled for you! And I hope it's not too much to ask, but perhaps after you get settled into your new routine you might entertain the thought of creating a post about your journey from student to your dream career?

  8. This is SO COOL, especially since my dream job is actually working at a publishing house in marketing (and Penguin Random House is the ultimate dream for me). I'm so excited for you to start this job, and I'm excited to hear all about it. I'll be lookin' out for all those #bookstagram pics. I'm actually looking for an internship at a publishing house in NYC for the summer, so if that works out maybe I'll take you up on that coffee:-)
