Natasha's Favorites: Best of 2015

Candle lit? Check. Iced coffee? Check. Tears in my eyes writing this list of my favorite reads from 2015? All of the checks. It's bittersweet to only list 15 of the best books I've read this year when I almost feel as if all of the books I've read deserve to be on this list. Alas, that list would have been eons long so I've narrowed it down to the few reads that I can wholeheartedly recommend to you. The list will be a mixture of New Adult, Young Adult, thrillers, and adult fiction. Okay, without further ado, here are my favorites from 2015.

MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFE by Taylor Jenkins Reid

This should not come as a surprise, seeing as I can't seem to stop recommending this one to anyone who asks me for a reading rec. If you're listening (reading?), READ THIS BOOK. This is my favorite read of all time. Thanks a million times over, TJR, for this beauty.

If you enjoy crying and reading at the same time, pick up this read. A New Adult read that had me chugging champagne, falling in love and falling apart. Can't wait to reread this one in 2016!

BLACK IRIS by Leah Raeder

Equally wicked as it is beautiful. This story is one of the best reads I've read to date. My book hangover afterward was real. It honestly opened my eyes to all things LGBTQIA+ and the importance of treating mental illness. Overall a very note-worthy read that everyone should digest at least once.

PAPER HEARTS by Claire Contreras

So many feels with this one. Think happy tears, sad tears, tears of anguish, and tears of love. They exist, because I absolutely cried them while reading this story! Jensen and Mia are forever imprinted on my heart.

This story was just beyond beautiful. Both heartbreaking and uplifting -- if you're looking for a story that you're really going to invest in, this one is it. Loved this from start to finish!

I'm not even kidding when I say I read this whole book in just 3 hours and cried the entire time. It is a memoir that will leave you breathless and filled with both life and love. I am so so very happy that I had a chance to read it.

FATES AND FURIES by Lauren Groff

There is a reason this book is Obama's favorite book of 2015. It is captivating and entirely addictive. Lauren Groff is one hell of a writer!

This book is wild from start to finish -- you barely have time to breath. It's toxic in the best way and riveting. I loved every bit of it. Be warned: there is a cliffhanger that I am currently still hanging on to and can't wait for the next book!!

NOVEMBER 9 by Colleen Hoover

I think I've managed to recommend this book to everyone I know and it still doesn't feel like I've recommended it enough. N9 is heart-wrenching and plot-twisty and exquisite.

JUST VISITING by Dahlia Adler

Such an inspiring YA read with all kinds of real-life situations. I loved the friendship aspect of the story -- if you want to see what a best friendship between two teen girls is supposed to look like, please read this one. All of the love for Reagan and Vic!

THE STATUS OF ALL THINGS by Liz Fenton & Lisa Steinke

This might be my favorite cover all of time. A truly enlightening story about fate, living with no regrets, and being happy with what you have and who you are. I am a forever fan of this story!

CORRUPT by Penelope Douglas

A dark romance that is all kinds of perfect. Penelope Douglas' flawless writing will leave you on the edge of your seat. The story will captivate you and you'll never want it to end! I absolutely need to reread this one, ASAP.

CHASER by Staci Hart

New Adult at its finest!!! Staci Hart tricks you into thinking this story will be a fluffy and fun read -- it's so much more. More intense, more real, more beautiful. I'm living for this one!

RACING THE SUN by Karina Halle

If you are in the mood to travel without actually having to move, grab this book (or anything by Karina Halle) and experience a kind of wanderlust that is almost palpable. Add in a romance that sizzles and you've got quite the story time. I loved everything about this story!

BEYOND WHAT IS GIVEN by Rebecca Yarros

Rebecca Yarros can do no wrong. This entire series just kills me. Grayson and Sam will absolutely win over your heart and leave you in a puddle of tears. I'm almost terrified to read the last book in this series because I will undoubtedly be a mess afterwards.
